Black Is Poetic x Congrats to this beautiful lady for getting signed to @3blackbirdmanagement !⚡️
Last month I got to travel to New York for the FIRST time. I have always had this fascination with the city and I have always wanted to see The Lion King on Broadway but I never thought a trip to NYC would be reality for me. If you want to see my trip in video form, check out my vlog! #linkinbio . ✈️ || I am so blessed to have a family that does so much for me. Having known that New York was apart of my wild imagination, they arranged a weekend trip to New York for my 20th birthday. There is totally a video of me crying when my family told be about the trip. And I can also confirm that I cried a total of 4 times during the Broadway production of The Lion King. Throughout the trip I had this feeling of euphoric weightlessness. The blue sky was a welcoming sign. The way the sun played hide-and-seek with the buildings was amusing. While the wind from the top of the double decker bus was crisp, comforting, and almost, familiar. Needless to say, NYC is truly a magical place. 🌟
If I could go back in time and tell young me that there are beautiful, powerful, and glowing black women out there, I would do it in a heartbeat!! ❤️ I had the pleasure of collaborating w/ the amazing @blackvibetribe on this shoot . Check out the behind the scenes video filmed by @tommytoonami #linkinbio . Thank you to the beautiful ladies pictured for bringing our shoot to life. || Growing up I struggled, like many other WOC, with accepting my beauty & skin color. The majority of the media I viewed did not show WOC. Because of this, I never was able equate my non-eurocentric features with beauty. Now, several years later, being that I can say that I am slowly but surely learning to love my blackness. Living in the age of beautiful black women such as Michelle Obama, Zendaya, Princess Tiana, Yara Shahidi, Duckie Thot, and so many more, has been a tremendous blessing. Being able to see other women wholeheartedly embracing their blackness and beauty is something 14 year old me could never comprehend. So being able to work with Trinity, a 14 year girl boss in the making and creator of @blackvibetribe, on this project, really brought everything full circle for me. Together we created something so magical and I'm so happy I get to share this with you all!
Throwback Tuesday to my shoot w/ the lovely @alaysialima 💕🌟
art by @gpez -- Just a gentle reminder to keep on doing you. Growing up I struggled with the deep desire of wanting to "fit it". Now that my teenage years are over, I can gladly say that I no longer want to "fit it". It's so much more blissful just being the true and authentic me. 💕👊🏽 || Side note: I AM LOOKING FOR A MAKEUP ARTIST for a trade shoot on OCT. 7TH. DM me! Also tag anyone who might be interested 💫
💟 2 0 : hey hey hey I'm no longer a teenager! I'd like to dedicate this milestone to everyone who gave me weird looks when I told them that I was 17 & in college. - On a serious note: thank you everyone for the birthday wishes! 🎉 I don't share my age on here because I know that I am youngin & don't want that to ever take away from my work or value. BUT today is a glorious day. I am blessed and I am loved. I have lived 20 blissful years on this earth and for that I am truly grateful. 💫🌟✨⚡️
