Changing body composition 💪🏼 ➡️left: -weight is ~145 lbs -working out 6 days/week most weeks, all HIIT and steady state cardio -ab exercises daily ----------------- ➡️right: -same weight (146 lbs), -working out 4 days/week, lifting -no more than 1 hour of cardio per week -10 min core work 1-2x week. ---------------- I never thought it was possible to do so little cardio and abs, and look my best. I have been able to build upon the athletic background I had from swimming and running, gaining muscle and being stronger than I ever was while in sports. What's most amazing to me about this is that I don't have to work out 6 days a week to maintain--I can take 3 days of rest/week and continue to make progress! My stomach is happier with me too, as I'm eating more than I ever did on the left, and eating foods that I used to believe would inhibit any physical progress and that I would feel guilty about eating. ------------------ And, the icing on the cake is that I'm able to do this in one of the busiest and stressful years of my life, moving every month completing my clinical rotations for pharmacy. My plan is to set myself up for success in the rest of my career after graduation--in pharmacy and in health and fitness. Don't let school or residency or a stressful job get in the way of you reaching your fitness goals. Lots of people let rotations and residency and their jobs rule every day of their life, and push fitness on to the back-burner. ➡️ My goal is to prove that rotations and residency doesn't have to ruin your physical and mental health--and that you can still have abs and eat tons of food AND be a pharmacist. ------------------- Keep working hard every day, and set your priorities straight. I never in my life stopped myself from eating something because it would make me fat. My number one priority is my HEALTH. I don't look at how many pounds I weigh but make sure I have plenty of energy, I feel good and most importantly I appreciate myself. I eat organic food, vegetables and fruit because the food we eat becomes us. We are what we eat. It doesn't matter what you look like but how you feel about yourself and how you feel physically . I love being strong and feeling energized every single day. I love pushing my body to the limits and seeing what I am capable of. Being healthy is not a trend, it's a lifestyle. The only thing that matters to me is becoming a better person everyday. Having a more open mind to different views and opinions and helping other people. Knowing that I made another person smile makes me smile. THE BIKINI BODY | So I recognise that the whole ‘get a bikini body’ has a bad reputation. The notion that there is one type of body that is acceptable to be in a bikini, doesn’t make sense in any way and it perpetuates this unhealthy ‘diet culture’ that we have immersed ourselves in. HOWEVER I recognise that it is, and feels like it will always be, a motivator for many to start exercising. If that’s the case - FINE - in fact, AWESOME - as long as it doesn’t REMAIN as the motivating factor to train. Can you move past the desire to look as certain way and instead work towards shifting your mindset and inner dialogue to be based around badassery, strength, health, energy and longevity? Every muscle in your body has the potential for epic shit (not actual shit, only a couple of muscles aid in excretion). Bikini body guides are brilliant if they get you started, but what is more important than getting started is what keeps you going ... lean for the beach or batman for life? ABS 🙌🏼 ended today’s workout with these 5 core exercises! I don’t train abs to often, since it’s basically a love hate relationship 🤷🏼‍♀️ But a strong core is very very important so here’s a circuit with a mix of body weight and weighted ab exercises. Tag a friend to try this 💕 CIRCUIT: Repeat 3 times for 10 sets of each! 1️⃣ lying leg lifts 2️⃣ v crunch 3️⃣ crunch variation 4️⃣ side plank hip raise 5️⃣ russian twists
